Life Letter
Letters: Distractions. Isolation. Blockages.
1 November 2023Dear friend,
Charles Awuzie wrote, 'A clean house has a functional dustbin.'
Pause for a minute, read that again, and contemplate it.
What do you think it meant?
Lemme rewrite it again, 'A clean house has a functional dustbin.'
Damn it!
You see, friend, for every clean thing, there's dirt or loads of dirt lying somewhere. It's a plus-and-minus game.
It's self-explanatory, but it sounds so figurative that there are different meanings that could be derived from this.
We all want the best for ourselves, but, hey, stop and think: have you done the cleaning? Have you done your 'laundry'? It could be mental laundry, environmental laundry, or anything else, though it still boils down to the mental picture in the end.
For the sake of clarity and for this letter, of course, I'd stick to the mental laundry but use associates when necessary.
When there's dirt in your house, your dustbin isn't functional.
When your house is clean, your dustbin becomes functional because that's where the dirt goes.
Listen, there are certain people you should block from your life — block them! Block them on social media, block their numbers, block physical connection with them.
Sometimes it doesn't mean you hate them; rather, they don't fit in. They're a pollution to your goals. Kick them out.
Now, don't forget to do that subtly, smartly, and humanly, too.
Aside people, some habits belong to the dustbin(prohibited list), not inside your house.(habits & hobbies)
You should learn to be able to discern that which belongs to the house and that which belongs in the dustbin.
Understand when your time is up and when you're due to leave some circles.
Understand when to call it off, forever, and when to keep going.
Understand that there are certain people you should no longer be talking to, perhaps frequently.
There are certain discussions you should no longer be having.
There are certain places you should no longer be found in.
There are certain foods you should no longer be eating.
I don't want to be exhaustive with the list, but the picture should be painted in your head by now.
Hey, wait, there are certain thoughts that should no longer be found in your head… As a result of this, I'd suggest you get the audiobook of the book: As a Man Thinketh by James Allen.
I'd have sent it via this email, but recently Google has been showing me premium shege across all their platforms.
It's from Librovox, so it's in the public domain…
One thing you must note is that it requires strong willpower to do this. But you have no option but to do it anyway. Or do you?
Be clean! For your success principle is clean!
Get it now, before I take it off public access.
Rooting for you!
Best Regards,
Joseph Chisom Ofonagoro.
Till I write next, Goodbye! Well… you can also tell others about this letter.
